A cruise walking map with Sokcho City
Since September 2026, we have been developing a walking-tour map with Sokcho City, connecting the cruise terminal and downtown through printed maps and English guides.
Routes on foot
Routes are designed around walking time from the terminal and the time it takes to get back. The map answers the passenger’s biggest worry first: when to head back.
Works without mobile data
One printed map covers the way, the shops, how to pay and where the restrooms are. QR codes are a backup, never the only way.
Shops ready to welcome
Every shop on the map gets an English menu and a HeySeorak listing. The goal is simple: cruise visitors actually spending in downtown shops.

Finding the route is hard
Unfamiliar maps and language make walking routes harder to follow. Travelers need clear directions in English.
No mobile connection
Without a mobile connection, visitors may not be able to open a QR link or web guide. A printed map still works.
Can’t read the menu
Without an English menu, ordering is difficult. Travelers also need to know in advance when a shop only accepts cash.
Afraid of missing the ship
Cruise passengers move by the clock. "Minutes back to the terminal" is the first thing a guide has to say.
