mindtouch began in Yangyang, Gangwon in 2020. Today we build a travel guide for international visitors, bring remote workers together, and run a place where they can connect with local people and businesses.
Three ventures, one ecosystem
HeySeorak helps visitors explore. HINOMAD brings people together through workations and meetups. HINOMAD LAB gives those connections a home in downtown Sokcho.
History
We started in Yangyang in 2020. Community programs, local pilots, and years of work in Gangwon led us to build HeySeorak for international visitors.
2020
mindtouch Inc. founded
Founded in Yangyang, Gangwon as a one-person company working across AI, tourism, and local projects.
2021
Remote mental health app pilot
Ran a pilot with Sokcho City and gathered usage data. It was our first experience building a service with a local government.
2021
HINOMAD community launched
Started running a digital-nomad community in Korea, alongside field research in overseas nomad hubs like Bali, Chiang Mai, Lisbon, and Madeira.

16 workations across Gangwon
A workation series across Yangyang, Sokcho, Yeongwol, Pyeongchang, and Gangneung, with visiting experts and brands as program partners. Ran the East Valley young-founders community in parallel.
2026
HeySeorak beta launch
Launched an AI travel guide and QR menu pilot with shops in Sokcho and Yangyang. Began tracking menu views and QR scans.

Selected as a Gangwon Tourism Venture · Phase 1 pilot
Selected for the Gangwon Tourism Venture program and began a field pilot focused on Sokcho.

We want to understand where visitors have trouble finding, choosing, or ordering from local businesses outside the Seoul metropolitan area. What we learn can help shops and cities make the next visit easier.
